The Model 7893D (7894D) C-band bandpass filter is installed between the feedhorn and the LNB (or LNA) to suppress strong out-of-band interference caused by marine or airport radar systems. Coastal and marine navigational radar frequencies (2.9-3.65) GHz just below the C-band, frequently wipe-out transponders (1-5) on satellite dishes installed near harbors. While airport altimeter signals (4.25-4.40) GHz tend to affect transponders (22-24) at receive sites located near airports.
